The timetable above shows the activity in our unit. The activity in infectious disease unit is as depicted in the home page that covers multiple services that can be broadly divided into two, HIV care and non HIV care.
WHAT IS AMS ROUND?
AMS - Anti-Microbial Stewardship Round, is conducted for Orthopaedic, ICU, CICU and GM patients with antibiotic use. The aim is to ensure appropriate antimicrobial use for better outcome
WHAT IS PLATE ROUND?
It is a discussion with microbiologist for patients with positive growth on plates that are deemed interesting and/or significant.
WHAT IS GRAND WARD ROUND?
Grand ward round is a session aimed to discuss challenging and interesting cases with the other physicians and attachment medical officers as well as medical students. The style of presentation should be in a problem based approach that deals succinctly with all the issues that are affecting the patient.
Medical students attached to ID needs to divide themselves in order to cover all the cases on the ward and they should make the effort to present all the cases themselves and shadow the interns and medical officers on a daily round.
